Lawrence, Kansas...Higher Roads, The Center for Business Advancement - has opened its doors for business. Working with independent trucking professionals to advance their goals, Higher Roads helps clients establish a roadmap for taking their businesses to a new level, while providing the financial services, support and training needed to stay the course.

Higher Roads was founded by trucking veteran, Jack Milligan. Milligan's experience in trucking spans more than 30 years and includes lobbying, fundraising, sales and leadership positions with Kansas Motor Carrier Association, the American Trucking Associations, the National Association of Independent Truckers and the Truckload Carriers Association. Most recently, he was a founding partner of The Alliance of Independent Trucking Professionals, a predecessor group that offered professional business services, tax and bookkeeping services for truckers.

The business has launched a comprehensive new website www.higherroads.com which includes information, resources and financial tools that keeping the end user in mind: the truck driver.

A major feature of the new website is a password protected Online Bookkeeping System. Through a login, clients can track their expenses and manage their bookkeeping and taxes online. In addition, the system logs information such as mileage and truck information used for industry tax deductions.

Experts from Higher Roads can be heard each week sharing their tax and business advice on the XM Radio Channel 171 satellite transmission of The Dave Nemo Show Tuesdays at 8:00 AM (CST). The View, a free weekly Higher Roads e-newsletter covers radio broadcasted subjects, as well as tips and tools to assist their clientele with moving forward. Interested individuals can sign-up for The View on the Higher Roads website. An archive of e-newsletters is available on the website and will serve as a financial resource tool and library for clients.

Already partnering with industry leaders such as Fikes Truck Line, Higher Roads' service packages are available as co-branded programs for fleets to offer directly to their owner-operators.
